Three thousand years
into the virtual time run, the Godhead realized that humanity抯 free
will was a disaster for most people. As the Godhead was ready to bring
the Hebrews into the Promised Land, Lucifer was given the opportunity to
present his case for why it could not be done.
The Israelites had
seen the ten plagues that destroyed Egypt. They had seen the cloud and
the pillar of fire leading them out of Egypt. They walked across a dry
sea floor and saw Pharaoh and his army killed when the walls of water
collapsed. They were eating the supernatural manna in the morning and
consuming quail in the evening. They had gotten water from a rock and
even saw Jesus land on Mount Sinai in a miraculous power display that
covered the mountain with fire and smoke and shook the place. Had these
power manifestations instilled faith in the people?
Jesus told Moses to
send twelve men into the Promised Land on a forty day excursion to spy
out the Promised Land. Lucifer convinced ten of the men that the giants
in the Promised Land were greater than God and it was impossible to
prevail against them.
Caleb and Joshua on
the other hand believed all things were possible. They told the
Israelites that God was with them. He had removed the power of defense
for the Canaanites and they should go in at once and take possession.
Lucifer sent his
minions to whisper fear and unbelief in the souls of the Hebrews. The
giants in the Promised Land were too powerful! It would simply be easier
to return to slavery in Egypt.
The attitude of the
ten spies amplified the fear and unbelief the people were already
feeling and they rose up ready to stone Moses, Aaron, Joshua and Caleb.
Jesus was furious and Moses had to plead with Him not to exterminate the
Jesus told the people
they would be allowed to live despite their unbelief, but the men and
women twenty years and older would die in the wilderness over the next
forty years. Lucifer and his minions riled up the people again and they
decided invading Canaan was a better choice. They suffered a massive
defeat because God was not with them.
Jesus pulled the plug
on the 10 spies and others who had rebelled and killed them. As we look
upon the descendants of Abraham, we can learn that the majority of
Abraham抯 descendants refused to obey, rebelled, embraced idolatry and
died in their sins.
This week抯 message
is a tragic moment when the bloodline of the Messiah rejected the
opportunity to enter the Promised Land and we find that God抯 many
miracles did not produce faith in the Israelites.
